Counterfeit Prescription Pills
Fake pills, marketed as legitimate prescription pills to deceive the American public, are easy to purchase and widely available. Many counterfeit pills are made to look like prescription opioids such as oxycodone (Oxycontin®, Percocet®), hydrocodone (Vicodin®), and alprazolam (Xanax®); or stimulants like amphetamines (Adderall®).
Fake pills are easy to purchase, widely available, often contain fentanyl or methamphetamine, and can be deadly.

Lifesaving Naloxone
Naloxone (Narcan) isย a life-saving medication that can reverse an overdose from opioidsโincluding heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioid medicationsโwhen given in time. Naloxone is easy to use and small to carry. There are two forms of naloxone that anyone can use without medical training or authorization: prefilled nasal spray and injectable.
Kansas Naloxone Program
DCCCA is providing free naloxone (Narcan) nasal spray and training to community organizations and any Kansas resident. DCCCA is funded for this project by the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) through the State Opioid Response (SOR) grant initiative from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal drug that counteracts the life-threatening effects of an opioid overdose. Naloxone is available to any resident or organization in Kansas upon request.

The Wyandotte County Health Department
The Wyandotte County Public Health Department also provides 2 boxes of narcan per month for free at the health department. Fentanyl test strips are also available for free.
